A book about gluten intolerance that is not only informative and comprehensive but easily understandable as well!
The Gluten Effect is written by Doctors Vikki and Richard Petersen, founders of the Health Now Medical Clinic, and have the distinction of being both doctors of chiropractic and certified clinical nutritionists.
And there is a little review in the front of the book written by your truly. (So does that make me a published author?)
To celebrate the release of this great book I am giving away a signed copy of The Gluten Effect.
So just comment on my blog my March 7th (which happens to be my birthday!) and I will randomly pick a winner from the people who comment. Just please make sure I have a way to get a hold of you so I can get your shipping address.
Yes I am aware that by making the deadline my birthday it appears as if I am shamelessly soliciting for birthday wishes but you do not have to wish me a happy birthday to be eligible!
Check out this website for more info about the book and be sure to let anyone you know who is gluten intolerant or has celiac disease about this book and this give away.
If you don’t win this copy, then buy your own. I have yet to find a better resource for anyone suffering from the effects of gluten.

I hope I win the book!
And “Happy Birthday” Carol!
By the way, I noticed your last name… Are you Polish? I am all Polish and would love to find a recipe to make gluten free Pierogi!

I also wish you a very happy birthday, on March 7th, with lots of good gluten free treats ;-)
HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY!!
I am excited for a book as I always have trouble actually following this gluten free dairy free diet I should be on.
I am so happy these doctors helped you and am excited to see what they have to say
Your birthday marks the beginning of my SPRING BREAK!!! I wish you a happy day and a great year!
I understand you moved around while growing up. That makes gardening tough. I grew up in Indiana. We like owning our own dirt, so we can brag that our tomatoes taste better than our neighbors’ tomatoes.
I think there’s an Indiana law that says there must be a clump of rhubarb in every back yard. No charges have ever been filed because everyone has one.
I’d love to win this book!
Pick me pick me! Please :)

Happy (early) Birthday Carol :) Since you wrote a review in the front of the book, I think an “autographed copy” would be fabulous!!!
well, I will wish you a happy birthday. I’ve seen another review of this book, but I haven’t been able to read it since it’s not in the library yet.
I’m always up for a new book and learning something new as well.

Very cool … sounds like a great book! Most of us who have gone gluten free have doctors like yours who we consider our “miracle docs.” That’s certainly the way I feel about the doctor who diagnosed me as gluten intolerant. I will be back to comment on March 7 to see if I can win! (I won’t forget because I am doing a gluten intolerance talk for a vegetarian group that day. More awareness–yippee!) Last, thanks so much for visiting my blog and commenting. :-)

I have been hearing so much about how eating Gluten Free is better for you. This book would be a great thing for me to truly understand this.
Very cool — sounds like a book everyone should read.
Happy Early Birthday Carol!
I hope that I win the book.

Ooh, I just found your blog, I will definately be back. I hope I win the book but either way I will have to get copies for my mom and sis who are also gluten free. Thanks for sharing and Happy Birthday!
This looks to be an interesting book. I’ve read reviews of it.
I am new to your blog-it looks like a great site! Happy Bday and I would love to have the book to use with my support group as well.

I would love to add this to our support group library. We have a nice group of books that we can share with both the Bellingham Gluten Intolerance group and the Raising our Celiac (and GF) Kids group.
BTW Marieateresa, I have a GF pirogi recipe on my blog. http://glutenfreeorganics.blogspot.com/search?q=pirogies
Hope this satifies your cravings
Cool! Looks like a great book. Happy Birthday too! You are sandwiched right between my two kids birthdays. It’s a good week for them!
Carol – I have to wish you a happy birthday, if for no other reason than your birthday is the same as my dad’s.
I’d love to have this book for my clinic. So many people have this and don’t know!
Woohoo! More books about the evils of wheat! Bring it on. : )

I would absolutely LOVE to win this book. I regard your recommendation highly and am always looking to learn more about this disease I have.

Have a very happy birthday this come March.
Your recipes are phenominal and provide me with mucho inspiration! Thank you so much for the email.
Happy birthday. I would love to give this book to my daughter. Her husband is gluten intolerant and she is trying to learn to cook, and shop gluten free.
Sounds like a good book. It is too bad more Doctors don’t have the knowledge of Celiac Disease that they do.
I will have to read this book!!!
You are wonderful to be giving a copy away. And on your birthday no less!
have a great one!!
Happy early birthday!! I follow your blog for recipes but I am wheat intolerant- not gluten. Thank you for the opportunity to win a book that explains things like this. email address is:

This does sound like a good book. I’d like to share it with our local Celiac support group.
Happy Birthday!
I would love to win this for my best friend who found in the past few years that she is allergic to gluten. :( Thank you so much for offering this giveaway! eyeslikesugar [at] gmail [dot] com
I want this book so I can send it to my daughter. she won’t listen to her gluten intolerant Mom about the possibility that her son’s problems may be caused by gluten intolerance. Maybe someone else telling her (in this book) will work. if I don’t win I’ll have to buy a copy for sure.
very informative thanks for the giveaway
I just found out I’m gluten intolerant

This GF book looks like a good one! If I don't win I will certainly purchase (but of course I hope I win!!). Oh, and have a great birthday! My mom & aunt's are on the 7th as well!
