For the past couple of weeks I have been keeping a secret. Actually I am really good at keeping secrets – other people’s secrets that is.
Miss A. accidentally lets it slip she has been harboring an enormous and surreptitious crush on Mr. X for years, I won’t say a peep. Got a nose job when you were 16? No one will ever hear it from me. Those missile launch codes? I’ll take them to my grave.
But my own secrets are a little harder to keep, especially when they are really, really great! So it is with great relief that I can finally let this one out to the world.
Are you ready?
I HAVE A COOKBOOK DEAL!!!
And it’s not with an obscure health-oriented publisher for the typical gluten free cookbook; printed on inexpensive paper with no photos, marketed for hippy girl or allergy girl.
“St. Martin’s Press is one of the United States’ largest publishers, bringing to the public some 700 titles a year under eight imprints, which include St. Martin’s Press (mainstream and bestseller books), St. Martin’s Griffin (mainstream paperback books, including science fiction and romance), St. Martin’s Minotaur (mystery, suspense, and thrillers), Picador (specialty books), Thomas Dunne Books (suspense and mainstream), and Truman Talley Books (business and speciality books).”
We are talking mainstream baby!
Thomas Dunne Books took a chance on Jeff Hertzbeg and Zoe Francois with phenomenal success for the best selling book Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day and now they are taking a chance on me.
This is going to be a beautiful, glossy, gluten free dessert cookbook with tons of photos. This is going to be the kind of cookbook I would buy.
I am so grateful to Thomas Dunne books for recognizing the fact that the gluten intolerant are not second class citizens and that we deserve to have really beautiful, high quality cookbooks.
I am also grateful to you, my wonderful blog readers because without this blog, the book would not be becoming a reality.
So for the next few moths I will be developing, cooking and photographing desserts like crazy – yes I am doing the photography for this book as well. I’m gonna be busy and I’m gonna have to exercise like mad to keep from gaining 20 pounds but I am not going to neglect the blog.
I have come to realize that blogs are where dreams really can come true!
I hope you will enjoy taking this next part of the gluten free journey with me.
