In just a couple weeks I will be Chicago-bound!

In case you have not heard about the Gluten & Allergen Free Expo, founded by Jen Cafferty and sponsored by Living Without Magazine, here’s the scoop – it is being held April 29th through May 1st at the Windham in Lisle, just outside Chicago and is THE place to be if you are gluten-free! There will be over 70 vendors there showcasing and sampling their products, cooking demonstrations and classes and the coolest of gluten-free people I know! There is even an allergen-free eating zone – how cool is that? For all the info please check out their website.

I am honored to be speaking at the Expo on Sunday.   I will also be doing a book signing for my new cookbook Simply…Gluten-free Desserts and am so looking forward to meeting all attendees!

Here’s just a little preview of people you will meet in Chicago:

Jen Cafferty is the dynamo behind this Expo and the author of the award winning website Gluten Free Life with Jen. This woman is doing so much to raise awareness and bring real solutions to people with food intolerances and allergies.

Shirley Braden, Gluten Free Easily, is, simply put, one of the most warm, caring and wonderful people on earth and she will be demonstrating her GFE approach to cooking which is using real ingredients to make delicious gluten–free foods at home.

Silvana Nardone is the gorgeous author of the gluten and dairy free cookbook Cooking for Isaiah, and the founder of Dish Towel Diaries, a gluten-free and dairy-free blog. She will be demonstrating delicious and creative lunch ideas that are perfect for every family.

Stephanie O’Dea is a New York Times best selling author, award-winning founder of the hugely popular blog A Year of Slow Cooking, and a mom of three. She has been on Good Morning America and The Rachael Ray show and she may even be BFFs with Oprah. She will be teaching how to make it fast and cook it slow in a crock-pot.

Cybele Pascal is the author of two bestselling cookbooks, The Allergen-Free Baker’s Handbook, and The Whole Foods Allergy Cookbook, for which she has made appearances on The Martha Stewart Show, the Food Network, the Today Show, Good Morning America Health, and NPR. She also writes two popular allergy-free food blogs;  Food Allergy Recipe Challenge on Martha Stewart’s Whole Living Daily, and Cybele Pascal: Allergen-Free Cuisine, and makes cooking videos for people with food allergies and intolerances. She will be demonstrating allergen-free Mac and Cheese and Red Velvet Cake – yum!

This is just a tiny allergy-free taste, there are many more presenters and speakers, so for a whole list go here.

As much as I love this virtual world in which I exist, there is nothing like meeting a person face to face, exchanging smiles, a friendly handshake and even a warm hug – so I hope you will make it to the Expo and stop by and say, “Hi” – I am longing to meet you in person!

Here’s hoping we will meet at the Gluten Free & Allergen Free Expo in Chicago!

Carol, what a beautiful job on this post … thank you so very much for including me with these superstars and saying those wonderful things, too! You’re a doll and I can’t wait to see you again, fresh off of your QVC success. ;-) I’m sure this Expo is going to be simply amazing (and simply gluten free, too!). I can’t believe how quickly it’s coming up now after months of anticipation. FYI–I’m working on two new versions of my flourless pizza as I write. More possibilities for you to glamourize in the way that only you do! :-)

Although I can’t make it (weep!), I can’t wait to read all the recaps on everyone’s blogs after that weekend. :) Have a fantastic time, Carol!
