Summer Smoothies

It’s summer time! That means sun, fun, and bathing suit season. Stay fit and cool with these sensational summer smoothies. Your blender is the only thing standing between you and a satisfying summertime snack.

Nuts and seeds provide the energy you need to get through all of those sunlit hours summer has to offer. Together, nuts and fruits are a match made in heaven, offering a complete meal in one glass.

For extra flavor without the addition of sugar, try unconventional yet delicious ingredients like cilantro or basil. Herbs provide full bodied flavor without the crash later. Coconut water offers more flavor than plain water, making for a subtly sweet and nutritious alternative to juice. Nut and gluten-free oat milks provide nutty flavor that complements the sweetness of smoothies perfectly.

A few tips before you get blending:

Keep your blender out on the counter if you have space as a reminder of your values: eating wholesome, homemade foods. You’ll find you’ll use it more if you see it on a daily basis.

Tired of cleaning out your blender’s nooks and crannies? Try this trick: After blending and enjoying a delicious smoothie, rinse the pitcher right away. Next, fill it with a little soap and water and place it back on the blender base. Turn it on and blend for 20-30 seconds. Ta da! The blender just cleaned itself. Rinse it, dry it and you’re done. How easy is that?
