  • 6 ounces fully cooked gluten-free andouille sausage links , chopped
  • 1 pound lean ground turkey
  • 1 small yellow onion , chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon thyme
  • ¼ teaspoon cumin
  • ½ teaspoon kosher or fine sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 large egg , lightly beaten
  1. Use an oval 6-quart slow cooker, along with an inserted 9x5-inch (3-inch deep) glass loaf pan.
  2. Combine all ingredients together in a large bowl. Mix well; I prefer to use my hands. Press the meat mixture into the glass loaf pan and place into the slow cooker insert. No need to add water.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-5 hours. You’ll know the loaf is done when it’s brown on the top and it starts to pull away from the sides.
  4. When thoroughly cooked, turn off and unplug the cooker and let the meatloaf sit for about 15 minutes before removing from the pot.
