Ingredients

  • 6 ounces fully cooked gluten-free andouille sausage links , chopped
  • 1 pound lean ground turkey
  • 1 small yellow onion , chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon thyme
  • ¼ teaspoon cumin
  • ½ teaspoon kosher or fine sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 large egg , lightly beaten

Instructions

  • Use an oval 6-quart slow cooker, along with an inserted 9x5-inch (3-inch deep) glass loaf pan.
  • Combine all ingredients together in a large bowl. Mix well; I prefer to use my hands. Press the meat mixture into the glass loaf pan and place into the slow cooker insert. No need to add water.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-5 hours. You’ll know the loaf is done when it’s brown on the top and it starts to pull away from the sides.
  • When thoroughly cooked, turn off and unplug the cooker and let the meatloaf sit for about 15 minutes before removing from the pot.
