WEBSITE QUESTIONS

Q: I’m wondering if you have a recipe for (insert request). Please help!
A: At the top right corner of the site is a search bar. Type in a keyword or two and hit enter. If we have a recipe with those keywords, then it should come up. Please keep in mind variant spellings or different ways to describe the same recipe (for example, BBQ or barbecue; or pasta salad vs. macaroni salad). Try starting broad and then try some variations if needed. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, feel free to contact us.

Q: I noticed a typo, a missing ingredient/direction, and/or misspelling in one of your posts, should I say something?
A: If you would be so kind! No one is perfect, so there are bound to be typos somewhere. If you would like, feel free to send me an email to letterstoeditor[at]glutenfreeandmore.com so I can fix it, or comment on the blog post itself.

Q: Is your website secure for me to send my credit card information through for purchase?
A: Yes, Gluten Free & More Inc. does not store your credit card credentials. Our website uses a company called SecureNet, which is Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliant. Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) is the international standard for handling credit card data. All banks, ecommerce sites, and small businesses must adhere to these standards in order to handle credit cards. If you would like to know more about PCS DSS), please visit their FAQ page.

Q: When will giveaway winners be chosen?
A: Our giveaway winners are drawn immediately at month’s end, they are notified by email typically within 15 days.
Winners have three days to respond to the email with their address information; their names are typically posted after all winners for the entire month have submitted information. If someone doesn’t respond within three days, a new winner is drawn for that contest.

Q: Can I make changes to any of the recipes?
A: You may if you would like. If you are not sure of something, you are always welcome to email me or comment on the recipe to verify that it will indeed turn out. I have tried a lot of substitutions but sometimes I cannot vouch for the recipe to come out properly if you do make changes.

COOKING/BAKING QUESTIONS

Q: If a recipe calls for coconut flour, can I substitute any other flour or almond flour in equal parts?
A: No you cannot, because coconut flour unlike other flours, is incredibly absorbent and any substitution would most likely end up being very runny.

Q: Can I substitute Regular milk for Coconut/Rice/Almond milk?
A: Any preferred milk products are fine for substitutions in most cases.

Q: What can I substitute for Vinegar?
A: Generally speaking, lemon juice.

Q: What can I substitute for Agave, as I have heard that it is not healthy for you?
A: Honey or maple syrup are fine substitutes. I am not a medical professional, so I cannot give advice on health effects of agave but I urge you to do your own research or talk to a nutritionist or medical professional.
