Recommends: Gluten Free Soul Pilot
Gluten Free Soul Pilot by Jet Widick and Kristen Alden is a great book for those looking to take control of their health and simplify their path to wellness. In one word, it’s inspirational.
Gluten Free Soul Pilot’s goal is to use well-researched principles and proven practices to guide readers through a personal “flight route” or plan that targets individual needs to achieve better physical, spiritual, and emotional health. With simple strategies like the 80/20 rule (80% clean; 20% indulgence), self-care techniques, ways to emotionally and mentally unwind, and many other feel-good practices, she helps to take the edge off what many look at as a hectic, stressful time in their lives when they first go gluten-free.
This book is ideal for someone new to a gluten-free diet or someone who is struggling to adhere to their diet or perhaps dealing with other health issues on top of having celiac or gluten sensitivity. Food has an emotional connection in us and a diagnosis of celiac or other illnesses that restrict our diet can definitely leave us feeling emotionally drained. Jet and Kristen try to help you break through the confusion and teach you that food should be nourishing and uplifting, not mentally draining and emotionally discouraging.
I love the overall message of this book and the individual lessons in each section. Being healthy doesn’t have to be difficult, you just need someone to help you learn to be the pilot of your own journey.
