Instructions
Use a 6-quart slow cooker. Put the sausages into the insert and add the onions and bell peppers. Pour in the beer and water. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours. Remove the brats from the slow cooker and grill lightly on an outdoor barbecue or indoor grill pan.
Scoop the onions and peppers out of the pot, and place into a large skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally, until they have begun to sweat and caramelize. Serve the brats on the toasted rolls, topped with the onions, peppers, and desired condiments.
