Certain foods just deserve more praise and celebration when you find them gluten-free. You can find gluten-free bars, crackers, and cookies by the dozen – but certain items, like donuts, ravioli, and empanadas, for example, are harder to find gluten-free, so when you do … you shout it from the rooftops!
Today’s rooftop shouting is brought to you by Cassava, a company that makes delicious ready-to-bake empanadas that are made in a dedicated gluten-free facility without artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. The majority of their fillings (and they have a lot of filling choices!) are either baked or steamed, with no added oils at all. Those that do use oils use only unrefined coconut oil, butter, or 100% grass-fed beef tallow – no highly-processed vegetable oils here!
Cassava makes their empanada crust out of – you guessed it – cassava flour. All of their ingredients from the crust to the filling are wholesome. The founder, Jorge, is intent on making his products with foods he would serve his own family, which means no “frakenfoods” or artificial ingredients and only the highest quality, best tasting ingredients.
Cassava’s empanadas come in a wide variety of delicious options, from pulled pork to huevos rancheros to Greek olives with chicken to sweet options like guava and cream cheese. They also make rolls, pizza, chimichurri sauce, and more. They offer vegetarian options, too!
